Horoscope:
Aries (March 21-April 10)
March 2009
Take a pause, Aries. The Sun visits your restful twelfth house until March 20, preparing for its move into your sign. Although Rams love to initiate new projects, this is a time to focus on completing what you’ve already started. What’s unfinished in your life? Take inventory: everything from work to overdue medical appointments to energetic ties that no longer uplift you. Before you charge into the next phase of life, clear these blocks away.
The twelfth house is a dreamy, imaginative realm that brings out your artistic side. It’s ruled by watery Pisces, so if you have a chance, visit somewhere restful near an ocean, river or lake. Music will have a powerful impact on your moods, so load up that iPod. Create a healing space around yourself now. Meditation, yoga and an extra hour of sleep will do wonders for you.
Health comes into even stronger focus on the 11th, when the Virgo full moon illuminates your sixth house of well-being. Are there habits you want to kick—like smoking, procrastinating or unhealthy eating? Bid them adieu. Many Aries have faced health challenges—even as simple as an energy shortage—since September 2007, when tough Saturn entered your sixth house. This full moon can mark a turning point for the better, as long as you’re willing to do the work. Busy as you are, you must make your health a daily priority.
Virgo also rules organization. Aries, this isn’t your strong suit—at least, not for yourself (you can be a whiz at handling other people’s business, though). On this day, the full moon’s light can help you clarify your main priorities. You might find yourself feeling a bit anxious, and not sure why. Blame it on the moon. Try not to scatter yourself in too many directions or get caught up in irrational worrying. There’s really nothing to freak out about.
The other main event of March happens on the 6th, when love planet Venus goes retrograde (backward) in Aries. Venus retrogrades every two years, and it can cause setbacks or bumps in your love life. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily need to happen, but retrogrades do turn our attention to the past. That theme of unfinished business we mentioned earlier? It happens here, too.
Venus will be retrograde until April 17th. You must treat your love life with extra precaution over the next six weeks. If you’re in a relationship, it’s a great time to renew vows, to go back and resolve a lingering issue, or to make sure you’re on the same page. Aries is an independent sign, so you’ll need to work hard to balance out time with mates or romance with personal time.
With the past-based theme at play, an ex could return during this cycle. While a fairy-tale ending could happen the second time around, be cautious about this person’s motives. It may be that this person is actually a “messenger” rather than a soulmate—arriving to show you where you still need to grow. You might even come face-to-face with your own commitment issues. Aries is the sign of the self, but if you’re demanding everything on your terms, you could learn a tough lesson about mutuality. Ask not what your sweetheart can do for you, but what you can do for your mate, too!
Astrologers advise against engagements, marriages and commitments made during Venus retrograde. If your plans are set, by no means should you cancel them. Just make sure you really clear the air about any past hurts or grudges before you walk down the aisle or say “yes!” You want to make sure you start this phase on a beautiful, harmonious note, and it will take a little extra work to get there.
Aries, we’ve saved the good news for last. On March 20th, the sun enters Aries. As Spring arrives, so does your own rebirth—and it keeps getting better. Whip out the red pen and circle March 26th. On that day, the Aries new moon marks your personal new year. Set your goals for the next six months and really take time to visualize where you’d like to be. Dream big, which is really the only way to do it in your book.
You’ll have some supercharged star power on your side that day, because the Sun, Mercury, and Venus are all in Aries. Ask and ye shall receive! You’ll have no trouble envisioning and acting on whatever you desire. If the first part of March is murky, this shot of power will more than make up for it. Of course, it’s a lot of energy to manage, so pace yourself. With all these planets in your sign, you could get a little “all about me.” Just make sure you spend the last week of March focusing on what a fulfilling life truly looks like for you. Don’t impose it on anyone else yet—but get clear within your own mind and heart.
