Monthly Horoscope:

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

March 2009

Success is in the stars! March begins with the Sun in Pisces, your tenth house of career and leadership. If you’re not feeling on top of your game, find your edge during March’s first three weeks. Structure and time management are necessary now, even if you feel a little confined by routine. It will be worth the tradeoff.

Gemini, if you want to be a leader in your field, you’ve got to play the part. Being the sign of the Twins, you’re always pulled in two directions. On one side, you want to be the perfect mogul, while the other half of you wants to play the rebel who lives on her own terms. You don’t have to sell out on your individuality, but don’t insist on being “different” to your own downfall. Find a way to have it all work.

Working with a mentor or business coach can also move you closer to your goals. This is a lucky year to develop your own business or entrepreneurial venture. However, you can’t skip the basics. A business plan and budget, even a simple one, is an important first step. Work with an expert in your field, or get free business guidance from retired entrepreneurs at your local Chamber of Commerce. Make sure your documents and licenses are in order—all the paperwork you need to be legitimate.

Your relationship with your parents needs some attention this month, too. The tenth house rules fathers, and your dad or an important man will figure prominently into events. This primary relationship affects the way you deal with all men, so take time to see if there’s any baggage there. Perhaps it’s time for some new maturity in this area, or to see your dad as the human that he is.

On March 11, the Virgo full moon emphasizes mothers, daughters and women. Full moons bring matters to fruition, and shed light on what’s been hidden. If you need to clear the air with your mom or a key female relative, you can do so now. You’ll feel especially creative at this moon, and it’s a good time to be around nurturing people who inspire you. At the very least, a day of pampering is in order.

The fourth house also rules home and family, so changes will be coming to yours. A chapter is ending, one that began last September. Perhaps you’ll move, find a new roommate, or make a decision about your living situation that you’ve been waffling on. A pregnancy is even possible.

Whatever happens, it’s sure to be profound, because this moon will form a harmonious angle with Pluto, ruler of transformation. You may either cut ties with a situation, or merge with someone more deeply than you ever have before. It’s a very black-and-white energy. We recommend that you move closer to harmonious situations, and away from anything that pulls you down.

A legal, financial, or real estate matter could come to a close around this moon, too, especially if it involves a family member. You might even be gifted some money or property from a relative. If you have a family of your own, make sure you protect your own assets for the future. A living will may seem grim to think about, but it’s never too soon to set that up, along with trusts, life insurance and any other policies to protect the ones you love.

The one day that will test you like no other this month is March 16th. Five planets will be in a major tug of war with you, and your patience will be tried. You could feel pulled between work, family and relationship issues. Talk about overwhelming! Try to bring in as much support as possible on that day, and don’t schedule anything that needs your full attention.

After the 20th, life becomes a little less work-focused, and your social network expands. The Sun moves into Aries, your eleventh house of group activity, making it a great time to get out and about. Join any groups that help your professional goals, and link up with like-minded friends. If you have a website, it’s a good time to update it. Technology is your friend, and can help you spread the word about your ventures more efficiently. Not that you need a reminder—Gemini is a very tech-savvy sign.

The only hitch is that Venus, planet of love and harmony, is retrograde (backward) in this sector of your chart from March 6-April 17. You’ll need to be extra careful to keep the peace with friends, and to avoid tricky group dynamics.

Retrogrades bring back the past, so you might reunite with old friends, or even heal rifts with any “frenemies.” If your friendships have gotten off course, put in the time to heal them. Venus retrograde could make signals cloudy when it comes to courtship. You might even find yourself feeling romantic tension with a friend, but unfortunately, it may be a one-sided crush. Don’t go there, Gemini.

The eleventh house is ruled by rebellious Aquarius, so your own escapist urges might kick in if you’re committed. There will be moments where you feel “I’ve gotta be free!” but don’t do anything rash. Instead of storming out in a dramatic fit, try communication. If you need more space in the relationship, discuss it honestly and compassionately with your partner.  You never know what can be worked out if you approach it as a team player.
