Monthly Horoscope:

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

November 2008

A major transformation is coming to your closest relationships, Gemini. Although it doesn’t happen until November 27, it’s so significant, it’s worth mentioning first.

On the 27th, powerful, soul-transforming Pluto moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn—its first move in 13 years. Since 1995, Pluto has been in Sagittarius, which rules your seventh house of committed relationships. They say that relationships mirror your best and worst self to you. With Pluto here, you have danced with the devil—your inner demons, that is—and glimpsed your own unconscious “shadow.” Long periods of turbulence have colored your personal life, thanks to the extreme highs and lows of Pluto’s influence. You may have married and divorced, started a joint business venture then parted ways, or had other “crash and burn” experiences involving a significant partnership. Although you wouldn’t take the experiences back (mostly, anyway), it’s been intense!

This month, you may feel a final surge of anger or pain at an ex-partner as Pluto subconsciously prepares for its move. Gemini, consider making peace and putting closure on any lingering ties for once and for all. On November 13, the Taurus full moon can show you exactly what you need to release. This moon illuminates your twelfth house of healing and the subconscious mind. Remember: you don’t have to forgive an action in order to forgive a person. If someone has hurt or betrayed you, that never has to be okay with you. But…consider that we all have a divine light within us. By refusing to acknowledge that light in another person—even a mortal enemy—you dim your own brilliance. Can you really afford this sacrifice? You have so much to offer the world. Release your psychic ties to this person by surrendering your pain to the universe. You’ll set yourself free, which is the most important result.

We’ve gotten so many letters from Geminis asking, “When is my love life going to get better?” For many, this year marked a turnaround. You see, as an Air sign, Geminis tend to skim the surface of their emotions, or deal with them in a remote, disembodied way. Although you can brilliantly psychoanalyze and read other people, looking at yourself is another story. This year, expansive Jupiter entered your eighth house of intimacy, vulnerability and deep bonding. Looking within became an opportunity and an adventure for many Geminis—and if you were open to exploring your emotional depths, the rewards have come back tenfold.

At the end of the month, Pluto enters this same eighth house, staying until 2023. Your gentle Jupiter warm-up is about to get intense. Over the next 15 years, you’ll permanently transform how you deal with other people in your most intimate affairs. Pluto is extreme, forcing you to reckon with yourself at your very core. Gemini, if you don’t have a good therapist, healer or spiritual guide, now’s the time to find one. You will feel more vulnerable and raw than ever, and the surge of feelings could sweep over you like a tidal wave.

While this might sound scary, it’s actually a good thing. You’re famous for playing tough, but like every human being, you crave companionship. Dropping your guard and admitting that you care makes relationships possible at their most intimate level. Forget about letting down your walls, Gemini—Pluto is sending a wrecking crew to knock them over. You need other people, and the sooner you admit it, the happier everyone will be.

The flip side? If you resist being connected to others, you could find yourself lonelier and more isolated than ever. Why? Because pretending not to need people at the same time as you lean on them will suck the life out of your closest ties, driving people away. Gemini, this doesn’t have to happen to you, but as we said, Pluto is an extremist. Work toward greater levels of interdependence and seek out trusted souls with whom to merge forces.

Pluto’s transformational touch will also impact real estate, finances, property and legal matters—all under the eighth house jurisdiction. It’s time to think long-term about assets and money. You can be a live-for-today type, but those impulsive habits need to be balanced out with a greater respect for your resources. As with all things Pluto-based, consider how your external habits and attitudes are a reflection of your core sense of self. If you find yourself spending big bucks to give the image of power or status (a temptation with Pluto in the eighth), try to bring more consciousness to your financial choices.

What else is up for November? With three planets in your sixth house of health and well-being for the first half of the month, focus on taking great care of yourself. Establishing a routine will be helpful. It’s important to ground yourself in simple, stabilizing practices, especially with the emotional changes you’re experiencing now.

On November 27, coinciding with Pluto’s move, a Sagittarius new moon offers you a clean cosmic slate in your committed partnership sector. It’s the perfect day to create a vision for your love life over the next six months. With passionate, energetic Mars in Sagittarius from November 17-December 28, a holiday proposal, relationship or renewal of love could come your way. There’s so much ahead for your relationships if you set your sights firmly on the future and leave the past behind. Gemini, you can do it!
