Scorpio (October 23-November 22)
November 2008
At last! The security you’ve been hoping for is on its way. You almost gave up, didn’t you? Scorpio, you love adventure, but you need stability, too. The certainty you crave has been in short order this year, especially over the last few months. You’ve had enough of the madness, and the universe knows. Just hang tight to the end of November, and you’ll be off the hook for good.
Your ruling planet Pluto, the powerful (and sometimes destructive) arbiter of core-level transformation, has been in your second house of money, self-worth and daily environment since 1995. You’ve been going through a 13-year trial by fire, Scorpio. Just when you thought you knew yourself or where you stood—boom! Along came Pluto’s cosmic crane to tear down that sanctified structure. Building, tearing down, rebuilding…that’s been the theme. You may have moved to new cities but never fully put down roots, or started jobs but never felt fully at home. Establishing a stable daily environment was not in the cards.
Has it all been in vain? Was it a cruel cosmic joke? Not at all. If you reflect back over this 13-year cycle, each time you rebuilt life from the ground up, you probably got closer and closer to your true essence. Pluto strips away all that’s false and inauthentic, a sometimes painful process that ultimately leads you back to your soul purpose. With Pluto in your second house, your environment, job, clothes, tastes and lifestyle got a total realignment. Now whatever’s left standing survived the journey home…back to you.
On November 27, Pluto moves into Capricorn, your third house of communication, until 2023. If you’re a writer, speaker or teacher, you could find an entirely new voice, or become an important contributor to intellectual culture. Pluto fires us up to reform institutions and issues. It can make you a force to be reckoned with—for better or for worse. Your words will carry immense power, so use them responsibly. You could become a powerful teacher and an equally apt student.
Your own communication style may undergo a drastic overhaul, as will the way you “market” yourself. This trend begins when Mercury, planet of communication is in Scorpio from November 5-23. It’s time to say what you honestly feel instead of suppressing it. Scorpio, you’re the sign of mystery, and you tend to be secretive, holding your cards close to your chest. Pluto could strip this away from you, leaving you feeling naked and exposed. Once you recover from having your tightly-held secrets exposed, you’ll wonder: why was I holding onto that poison anyhow? You may even be shocked to find that you were guarding something toxic as though it were a treasure. Your first lesson will be letting go and questioning what’s worth cherishing—especially if it’s costing you freedom.
In spite of all this intense change, November does promise to be a great month. The Sun, Mercury and Mars are all in Scorpio until later in the month. You’ll be seen, heard and able to produce results quickly and efficiently. Whew! For so long, everything seemed to drag out and take forever. Venus, the planet of attraction, is visiting your second house of money until November 13, making you a money magnet. Ambitious Mars also visits this sector November 17-December 28. You could make up for lost time in the final stretch of 2008.
Relationship matters improve dramatically, too. (“Relationship? What relationship?” many of you are saying.) Yes, Scorpio, your dusty love life does get a well-deserved renewal. On November 13, a Full Moon falls in your seventh house of committed relationships. If you’re coupled up, this lunar light will energize your partnership. For other Scorpios, a budding relationship could gel into something more serious. There’s more stability coming down the pike, too. At the end of the month, erratic Uranus, which has been retrograde in your fifth house of romance since May, goes back to direct (full-power) mode. Although love will continue to be adventurous (and perhaps not your hugest priority) over the next couple years, you can certainly restore equilibrium. Any lethal exes that crept back around over the summer will slither back into their caves—thank goodness. Healthier, happier days are ahead.
Issues with a female relative or a key female figure will also clear up this month. Neptune, planet of illusions and foggy thinking, ends a retrograde cycle on November 2. If you’ve felt disconnected from your mom or had domestic troubles, this will heal itself. Your home life will settle into a more comfy glow. Neptune is the god of the sea, so bring the water element into your home. Bubble baths, spa jets, a fountain or fish tank…it may sound all New Agey, but you’ll be surprised by how soothing a little aquatic action can be. As driven and extreme as you are, it’s important to let go and take in as much as you put out into the world. Sometimes, the best answers come when we let go and relax.
