MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
It’s Scorpio season, and you’re feeling the love. The Sun is
in your sign until November 21st, a great time to crawl out of hiding and
rejoin the world. Fresh starts of all kinds are on the offering block,
so explore the opportunities. On the 16th, the Scorpio new moon marks your
personal new year, a great time to map out goals for the next six months.
A job offer could arrive after the 21st, when the Sun enters Sagittarius,
your second house of money.
Holiday season begins on a productive note, but sullied by a possible guilt trip from family. Thank the Scorpio new moon, which forms a tense angle to Neptune, pulling you between duty and desire. A female relative may need your support. Should you turn down a chalet in Gstaad for sibling rivalry and mom’s soggy stuffing? Hell to the no. However, you may need to strike a compromise: home for Thanksgiving dinner, then off to ski the Alps on Saturday.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
November puts commitment front and center. On the 2nd, the Taurus full
moon lights your relationship sector. Full moons bring turning points,
and a matter in your love life has come to a head. If you’re holding
onto the past, release your grip. This person will either return voluntarily,
or make space for a healthy newcomer. It’s time to trust, Scorpio.
If you’re holding back, let loose and allow someone special in.
Nobody’s going to hurt you—and you’re not made of porcelain,
either.
In fact, you may discover that your own stubbornness is the main blockade to intimacy. This moon will square off with feisty Mars in your tenth house of men and authority. Father issues could be playing into tension with your mate. What role did your father play in your life? Examine how this has shaped your approach to love. Your own stern, officious attitude could be intimidating your love interests. You’re not negotiating a corporate merger here, Scorpio. Would it hurt to crack a smile?
On November 9th, love planet Venus enters Scorpio, bringing an attractive glow to the rest of the month. Flirt shamelessly and express your desires without apology. The ball’s in your court. The only tricky patch: from the 16th-23rd, Venus battles with Mars in Leo, your passionate romance sector. During that week, you might give off a mixed message. One minute, you’re hot, the next, you’ve got all these rules and restrictions. Make up your mind, or slow down.
MONEY & CAREER:
With the Sun and several planets in Scorpio, November is an important time
to redefine yourself. This is your annual “reset” point,
when you start a new yearlong solar cycle. If you’re grappling
with what to do next, spend the first three weeks of November tuning
into yourself. Don’t worry about the dollars; just focus on your
passions. Not sure what they are? This is a good time to read The
Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, even if you just adopt her
practice of Morning Pages (three journal pages that you free-write upon
waking).
On the 21st, the Sun moves into Sagittarius, your second house of money and work. After three weeks of soul-searching, you’ll have a better idea how to translate your interests into income. Thanksgiving weekend is also a great opportunity to network. Don’t hunker down into monk mode or sleep the weekend away. Talk to people about your interests and ambitions; someone will offer a great lead.
HEALTH & FITNESS:
On October 29th, disciplined Saturn began a three-year journey into your
12th house of healing and spirituality. Exploring the mystical side of
life has always captured your fancy, but now you approach it with greater
dedication. A practice like yoga, breath work or meditation will center
you through challenging times. Water is especially powerful for you,
so take up swimming or train for your scuba license (indoor public pools
offer winter certification).
The twelfth house also rules endings. You could be mourning, or resisting the necessary end of a life cycle, even if it’s just the shedding of an old identity. If so, this could manifest in physical aches and pains. Letting go is hard for Scorpios, so make sure you have the proper support system in place. Work with a therapist or a healer to release your subconscious blocks.
