Are you ready for a new source of flow, a new job, or a raise? August begins with a total solar eclipse in your second house of money and self-worth. This New Moon event marks a brand-new chapter that can arrive unexpectedly. But hey, this kind of surprise doesn’t sound too bad, does it?
The second house also governs your material world, fashion and daily life. Cancer, you’re ready for a fresh new image. Everything from your haircut and color to your wardrobe is ready for a radical revamp. If your bedroom is a dark cave, or your couch is a worn-out lump, a little home makeover is probably in order, too.
Consider this: if you were a “brand,” what colors, textures and icons would express you best? If you were a house, would you be decorated in rustic modern, vintage or contemporary design? Cancer, it’s time to embrace who you are, accept who you aren’t, and simply operate from there. You’ll be amazed at how swiftly results will come when you “know thyself.”

On August 16, a second eclipse falls in your eighth house of sex, passion and property. While the second house rules the kind of money you earn through daily work and a paycheck, the eighth house rules large chunks of money and other people’s resources—credit cards, loans, royalties, passive income, inheritances, real estate, stocks. This Full Moon eclipse could bring something to partial fruition. You could receive an unexpected bonus, or make a significant payment on some debt. You might place a downpayment toward a piece of real estate or another asset. If you’ve been involved in a legal entanglement, it could be partially resolved.
On August 20, motivator Mars enters your fourth house of home, family and foundations, staying until October 4. This cycle is also favorable for moving or renovating. Watch for family tensions, especially with your mom or a female relative. Mars can add aggravation because it brings a burst of energy all at once. If you and a partner are at odds over starting a family, or dividing up childcare, you may need to talk things through and hash out a compromise. If you feel like the four walls are closing in on you, find other place to feel “at home” (the local café, a friend’s beach house). Your own domestic situation could be a little chaotic for now!
The eighth house also rules mystery. A secret or detail could be revealed that could alter your lifestyle. You could get married or engaged (or sign contracts for a business partnership), as intimate bonding and joint property are also favored under this eclipse. Or, you might part ways, even take a trial separation, from a partner. Hopefully, things won’t be quite so abrupt, though. Thanks to the softening touch of Venus and Jupiter on that day, you’re more likely to clear the air with a key person in your life. Cancer, if you’ve been holding back your feelings, they could all come flowing out. Fortunately, they should be well-received if you avoid using a stressed-out tone or delivering your words in “complaint” form. Don’t hold back, but make sure you don’t cast yourself as a victim, either. Take full responsibility for your role. You’ll find yourself with a far more receptive mate that way!
