Enjoy! -Tali & Ophi
This month’s crystal horoscopes teach you how to tap into the harmonious nature of Libra. By working with the healing powers of crystals and precious gemstones, you can hone the balancing qualities of the Scales and embrace the beauty in everything, and everyone.
Crystals and Astrology:
Every planet and star sign has corresponding crystals that share their energetic resonance. Consciously working with crystals and gemstones that correlate with the energy of each astrological season can benefit the mind, body and spirit. As crystals form within the earth, rocks and minerals are in a constant process of transformation: creation, change and dissolution. The zodiac reflects this process from the spark of the birth of Aries (the first sign of the zodiac), the growth through the signs, and the completion and undoing in Pisces (the twelfth sign).
The Libra Resonance:
Libra represents the seventh stage in the circle of life, and the first place in the zodiac wheel where we rise above the horizon to connect with the outside world. The first six zodiac signs are all about cultivating the inner base of self. Mutable Virgo wrapped up summer for us in the northern hemisphere, and showed us how to hone our skills. Cardinal Libra marks the beginning of the autumn season and finally ushers us into intimate, committed connection to others.
As an air sign, Libra operates in the social and mental realms. Ruled by Venus, Libra is at once the lovely beauty queen and the bearer of justice. Its symbol, the Scales, is all about bringing balance and righteousness into the world, and creating partnerships of substance.
Just as new habits take about a month to become ingrained, working with a crystal for several weeks helps your body to integrate the new vibration in conjunction with the stone. Working with the 28-day moon cycles is ideal, especially for women. Or you could start working with a new stone at the beginning of the month, or the start of a zodiac season—or of course, whenever it feels intuitively right.
Crystals form when liquid magma from the earth’s core moves toward the surface, cools down to solidify, then crystallizes over millions of years.
Rose quartz and ametrine are the two crystals I recommend for Libra season, for those with strong Libra in their natal charts, and for those who want to tap into the energy of Libra any time year-round.
The quintessential love stone, rose quartz is a perfect crystal for all matters of the heart. As Libra is ruled by Venus and pertains particularly to committed partnerships, rose quartz resonates tremendously with this sign.
Libra is associated with the kidneys and the lumbar/lower back region of the body. Rose quartz is beneficial for the kidney function, as well as many other parts of the body including the kidneys, liver, lungs and spleen. It is also said to aid in reducing sinus problems, earaches, and throat issues. Rose quartz is emotionally beneficial for the energetic heart center, but also good for the physical heart and blood circulation.
Rose quartz is also the perfect fertility stone, aiding in genital function and providing calm and balance during pregnancy and childbirth. Rose quartz is the perfect beginner’s crystal yoni egg that people with wombs can use internally for wellness and energetic healing from the inside out. And for all humans, rose quartz can also boost the metabolism, stimulate adrenal function, and help curb addictions and lift depression.
Libra’s airy nature means that these individuals spend a lot of time in their heads, and rose quartz can also assist with reducing headaches and migraines. Meditation with rose quartz supports higher brain function. This feature in particular helps Libra to not only sharpen the intellect, but to also bring the mental clarity to make solid judgments instead of going back and forth, as the Scales are wont to do.
Crystals form under heat and pressure. These unique specimen come from a certain part of earth where the two temperatures of the layers of flowing magma were distinct enough to form the two colors in one mass of magma. The difference in temperature also had to remain proportionately stable throughout the entire cooling process for the separate colors to show through, which is remarkable because crystals form over such long periods of time. Had the heat indexes been off by even a degree, the minerals would crystallize as all amethyst, or all citrine.
Libra energy can be prone to indecisiveness because of its airy ability to see multiple perspectives. Ametrine is a fantastic stone for all things Libra due to its inherent stable nature, based on the way it is formed.
Ametrine is good for the nerves, which helps stabilize Libra’s mental energy. The special gem is said to also be good for the brain function, as well as providing oxygenating and detoxifying benefits to the body.
Libra desires balance, and for those moments when they feels unsteady, a meditation session with amethyst brings about physical and energetic equilibrium between the body and the higher self.
Libra loves love, and its seventh house association speaks to the desire for loving partnership, marriage and even long-term commitments that aren’t of a romantic nature, such as business connections. The prerequisite for effective partnerships of any kind is a true working knowledge and cultivation of self-love, and rose quartz is the universal tool for that.
Rose quartz bestows a sense of firm gentleness, where we can trust and enforce our boundaries while still being open to healthy and loving connection. It brings empathy and softens one’s nature, while at the same time opening our hearts to love and alleviating anxiety.
Most of our adulthood challenges stem from childhood trauma and the limiting beliefs we took on in our youth. Rose quartz can help us to dissolve those very issues—even helping us to look at any abuse, neglect, abandonment, conditional love, family dysfunction, and other core wounds from the past which influence our lives to this day.
While rose quartz is a particularly beautiful crystal, sometimes when beginning to work with the stone of love, it brings up deep-seeded emotions that have been buried in the subconscious. Sometimes the path to that wholeness with rose quartz starts with calling us to sit with the uncomfortable feelings and be with them, accept them, and love them.
Similar to embracing both the benefits and challenges of your natal chart, it is only through coming to a full love and acceptance of our entire selves that we can actually integrate our wounds instead of compartmentalizing them. When we are dedicated to recognizing the wholeness within ourselves, we can then know our worth and connect with others of similar resonance who value us.
Ametrine combines the clear consciousness of amethyst and the dynamic radiance of citrine to provide a single crystal of direct action, as cardinal Libra energy desires. It can help to nip the self-sacrifice in the bud before it backfires, as this crystal is an aid in reconciling oppositions and resolving inner contradictions.
Libra’s airy desire for harmony can become burdensome. The people-pleasing nature of these natives can result in a feeling of loss of self, and resentment may build when one feels they have given so much at their own expense. When the inner and outer selves become too far out of alignment, the dark side of Libra may emerge, blindsiding others who perceived Libra as being a particular way.
Ametrine’s harmonious nature helps to activate creativity and raise energetic levels. If you’ve felt on the brink of burnout due to being too “others-oriented,” ametrine helps you to tap into your inner core of well-being that can remain solid and present, even in moments of great stress or conflict. It encourages optimism, brings good synchronistic fortune, and is a beautiful embodiment of the joy of life.
In truth, unhappiness has little to do with anyone else, but pertains more to whether your self is in alignment. Wearing ametrine consistently on the body or using it regularly in meditation will be of great use in remembering who you are.
How to Cleanse and Program Crystals
Crystals are largely comprised of silicon dioxide (SiO2), which is the material used in watches for timekeeping and silicon computer memory chips for storing large quantities of information. Thus, crystals are inherently programmable, and you can set your intentions for what you would like to work through with your stone.
Before working with any crystal, it’s a good practice to smudge (or energetically cleanse) the stone by passing it through the smoke of a purifying type of incense such as white sage, Palo Santo, or frankincense and myrrh. Just as white sage is used to bless and clear a new home, smudging crystals neutralizes any previous energetic imprints in the stone.
To program your crystal, sit upright comfortably with your stone in your left hand, and place your right hand over the crystal. Take three deep breaths with the intention of attuning with the crystal’s vibration, and state your intentions either in your head, or spoken aloud. Sample intentions are offered below.
Meditation, Intentions and Affirmations with Crystals for Libra Season
Meditating with crystals during Libra season can empower you to become more decisive, and embrace your innate sense of self-worth.
I recommend writing down the affirmations below with pen on paper, keeping them beside you as you meditate. Feel free to add your own Libra themes as you see fit. If you find it challenging to quiet your thoughts as you sit in silence, there are many meditation apps available, such as the Calm app or Headspace. Or, you can search for crystal singing bowl meditation tones or binaural beats on YouTube such as these:

Intention: I am a beautiful, balanced, worthy soul.
I empathize with others.
I transmute my pain into wisdom.
I respect my boundaries and feelings.
I see relationships as divine assignments.
I give only from an overflowing cup.
I am worthy of unconditional love.
Libra Season Rituals
Heart Chakra Journaling Exercise
Everybody desires love, and the best way to cultivate that is to look at ourselves, rather than to others to fill our perceived voids. All relationships—whether romantic, platonic, familial, or professional—have useful lessons to teach us, and ultimately have more to do with learning about the self through the sharp mirror of another.
My book is called The Yoni Egg Shadow Integration Workbook: Your 28-day Astrological Guide through the Womb Wellness Journey. In it, I include daily journaling exercises that progress throughout the themes of the zodiac. In the section dedicated to the heart chakra and its association with Libra, the seventh House, and rose quartz, I include a few introspective questions which are critical to examine when looking at your Libra energy. Take some time to answer these questions:
- How do you feel about the people in your vicinity? Think about home, work, society; where might you feel hurt, jealous, bitter, or mistrustful?
- Think of one challenging relationship you struggle to reconcile. How can you realign in a manner empowering to you? (Example: “I cannot fix my tonic mother’s problems, but I can mother my own inner child with the love I need, and nurture others and my own child[ren].”)
- What 3 things can you do to cultivate and receive love? Start with self.
Self-Love Crystal Meditation
For this meditation, lay down in a quiet space with your rose quartz and/or ametrine stones. If you have both, place the rose quartz over your heart chakra and the ametrine on your forehead over your third eye. If you only have one of the stones, place it on your heart.
- Take seven deep, slow breaths to center yourself into the meditative space.
- Feel the energy of unconditional love flowing from the rose quartz crystal and expanding to surround your entire body.
- Focus on the concept of loving all aspects of yourself—the light, the shadows; the strengths and weaknesses. If feelings of sadness arise, embrace them, and allow them to be there.
- Take note of all the so-called “negative” feelings or beliefs you may hold about yourself. Notice if there are any parts of you that do not feel worthy, or feel unprotected.
- Envision the two-colored energy of the ametrine crystal clearing your mental space of your limiting beliefs. Visualize the orange and violet light surging into your pineal gland/third eye, and activating your inner knowing of your inherent worthiness.
- Come back to your heart space and focus on the part of you that is solid and centered. Feel how the rose quartz opens your heart.
- In your head or aloud, say the Libra Season intention: “I am a beautiful, balanced, worthy soul.” Imagine yourself saying this directly to the parts of you that do not feel this way.
- Repeat the intention at least three times.
- Envision all your pain and trauma dissolving and being replaced with the warmth of unconditional love for yourself.
- Continue breathing deeply in this state for at least 15 minutes, and repeat this meditation daily.
- Rose quartz and ametrine are stones that can be kept on your person for extended periods of time—you can wear them as jewelry, keep them in your pocket, or place them next to your bed or under your pillow for as long as you desire.
As you navigate your relationships during Libra season, try to remember that compassion toward yourself will only allow you to extend that same love and kindness to others. Remember the presence of your spiritual self, and know that you can always trust in the universe.
