Jupiter in Leo: July 16, 2014-August 11, 2015

Lights, camera, action. Bountiful Jupiter bounds into Leo for the first time since 2003. Ready for the greatest show on earth? You could be the one to stage it.

It’s showtime, people! In July, expansive Jupiter takes the stage in theatrical Leo, ruler of self-expression. Living out loud, wearing our hearts on our sleeves, and turning up the dial on the “me” channel? That’s Leo for you. Jupiter has been in Cancer since June 25, 2013, a watery sign that’s been more about reflection, emotion and all things internal (Cancer is ruled by the moon). Now, the planet of luck, abundance and risk bounds into sunny Leo, blasting us all with a dose of solar power. It’s time to go big or go home! During the second half of 2014, it seems that everyone will want to turn heads and be heard. On the upside, some fearless outspokenness could be refreshing (a la bawdy showbiz star and Leo Mae West, whose career spanned seven decades)—finally, some feisty and fresh voices could emerge. Hollywood may have another heyday with lucky Jupiter in this attention-loving sign, but we’ll need to watch for egregious egos and lavish overspending. Jupiter’s last visit to Leo was in August 2002-September 2003, which sparked the “super- couple” trend when the high profile romance between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, both Leos, inspired the media to anoint them Bennifer and fueled the portmanteau craze (Brangelina, Kimye…ad nauseum).

While luxury goods, the arts and high-end brands could have a heyday—economic instability be damned. We may also have to endure the 2014 version of J. Lo’s Harry Winston 6.1 carat pink diamond escapade…or box-office bombs like Bennifer’s Gigli. Jupiter rules abundance and Leo loves attention, but as we learned last go-round, too much of a good thing can sizzle then fizzle. Leo rules the heart and spine, so hopefully our more generous world leaders find their backbones and begin leading from a place of soul and compassion. In our daily lives, Jupiter in Leo can inspire us to put more soul and passion into all that we do. Say it one more time…with feeling!

Here’s how Jupiter will affect your zodiac sign:

ARIES

Paging Cupid! Jupiter enters your fifth house of love, romance and passion. Open your heart to a new “type” in love, as worldly Jupiter will attract you to people from all walks of life. If you’re in a relationship, get ready for a passion revival—and possibly even a pregnancy. The fifth house rules creativity, so artistic Aries could gain fame for your unique self-expression. No more holding back!
Celeb example: Will Aries Kourtney Kardashian be the sister with the most drama this season?

TAURUS

Home is where your heart is! Jupiter spends the next 13 months in your fourth house of home, family and roots. You could buy property, renovate or move to a new address. Relationships with mothers, children and female relatives are highlighted, and women could play an important role in your expansion this year. A family business or cottage industry could take flight.
Celeb example: Will Taurus Tori Spelling bring peace back to her troubled home and family?

GEMINI

Look who’s talking again! After a work-driven year, Jupiter moves into your playful third house of communication and local affairs. Time to launch that blog, expand your social circle or get more involved in your community, perhaps as a local entrepreneur or leader of a group. Mayor Gemini has a ring to it…doesn’t it? Business owners can revamp their branding and image, focusing on social media and marketing.
Celeb example: We eagerly anticipate a creative tour de force or two from Gemini Angelina Jolie.

CANCER

Show me the money! Jupiter rounds out a year in Cancer, where it exposed new dimensions of your personality and awakened your independence. Now, Jupiter enters your house of work, money and daily routine. Where will you apply all those big ideas? Jupiter brings exciting new job and moneymaking opportunities (perhaps with a relocation), and a chance to build security. Play your cards right and you could make more money than you have in over a decade.
Celeb example: Will newlywed Cancer Jessica Simpson extend her brand to the luxury or home goods marketplace?

LEO

It’s your time! Lucky, expansive Jupiter is now in your sign for 13 months, awakening your fiery spirit. After a sleepy year where you may have felt foggy, sick or fatigued more than usual, you’re back in a big way. Jupiter in Leo kicks off a fresh 12-year life cycle. Get ready for a clean slate! Look back to August 2002-September 2003 for clues of where you could make a comeback.
Celeb example: Leos like Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna will be taking over the universe.

VIRGO

Power down, Virgo. Jupiter is in your restful twelfth house of endings, closure and healing. Consider yourself on a 13-month retreat of sorts, in preparation for Jupiter’s entrance into Virgo next August, which will herald a fresh life chapter. Meantime, do some forgiveness work, enhance your spirituality, enjoy more solitude and creativity. Let yourself be nomadic and practice the art of surrender. While you’re the zodiac’s helper, it’s time to learn to receive.
Celeb example: Will Virgo Beyonce take some downtime for emotional healing and reconnecting with her roots?

LIBRA

What are friends for? Well, just about everything, now that Jupiter is visiting your eleventh house of groups and networking. Social butterfly Libras will be in their element, branching out to meet new friends or get involved in collaborations—even expanding into an avant-garde community art project or politics. (a run for office? Never say never!) Your best luck comes when you link up with like minds. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Celeb example: Will consciously-uncoupled Libra Gwyneth Paltrow be the newest party girl?

SCORPIO

Build that empire! After a blue-sky year, it’s time to start applying some of those grandiose visions to a master plan. With Jupiter in your tenth house of career and success, you’re in ambitious spirits, ready for world domination. You could go work for a traditional corporation, take an executive or leadership role or gain public acclaim for your expertise.
Celeb example: Topping the It List could be Scorpios Shailene Woodley, Emma Stone and (hopefully) Ryan Gosling.

SAGITTARIUS

You’re back! After a private year spent flying under the radar, Sagittarius, your ruling planet Jupiter enters your expansive, abundant ninth house (the part of the chart associated with your sign). Jackpot! Your big ideas could take flight—and so could you. Travel, study and entrepreneurship become major themes for many Archers. Publishing is also featured.
Celeb examples: Welcome back from obscurity, Sags Britney Spears, Katie Holmes and heck, maybe Ben Stiller.

CAPRICORN

Let’s make it official, shall we? Jupiter slides into your eighth house of intimacy and joint ventures, awakening the urge to merge. This is where the rubber meets the road in your closest ties. Pregnancy, engagements and cohabitation could be on the agenda. The eighth house also rules sex so get ready for a boudoir revolution! Long-term finance is features, so look into retirement plans, passive income, investments and real estate.
Celeb example: Sooo, who wants to hook up with Capricorn hottie Orlando Bloom? #takeanumber

AQUARIUS

Two is your magic number! Independent Aquarians could trade their free-spirited ways for the joys of a dynamic duo. With Jupiter cruising through your partnership zone, committing to a business or romantic twosome could yield great results. You could fall for someone from a different culture or background, or open an international division of a company. Some Aquarians could outgrow a long-term bond and find someone who fits the person you’ve become.
Celeb example: Unlikely wedding bells for Aquarians Paris Hilton? A baby for Justin Timberlake?

PISCES

Time to get healthy, wealthy and wise. Jupiter leaves your dramatic, decadent fifth house for your healthy and organized sixth house. If you’ve indulged the past year away, you’ll be inspired to clean up your act, getting your life and wellness into great shape. The sixth house rules service and helpful people. You could get involved in a “green” initiative or a cause that’s close to your heart.
Celeb example: Will Pisces child star-gone-wild Justin Bieber clean up his act?
