It’s the most wonderful time of the year, or so they tell us. Getting into the festive, family-friendly spirit should feel quite natural for the most part this week. On Monday the 23rd, messenger Mercury joins the Sun, Venus and Pluto in family-friendly Capricorn until January 11. There’s a traditionalist living inside us all, even if we’re putting a brand new spin on a classic custom. Whether you’re decking the halls with boughs of holly or ordering a buffet style dinner at a karaoke-restaurant, what happens in 2013 won’t stay in 2013 so make it good! Mixing old with new could be a fun upgrade too.
Advance notice: the Grinch could gum up the works here and there too. Hotheaded Mars in Libra will directly oppose rebellious Uranus in Aries on Wednesday the 25th (Christmas Day), and we’ll feel the effects of this cranky cosmic faceoff all week. While Mars in Libra can get us pumped up with the seasonal spirit and lovey-dovey vibes, we can swing to the opposite extreme too. Uranus in Aries bucks the tide, and our independent agendas could clash with other people’s plans for us. Going along to get along? Not gonna to be easy this week. What’s good for the goose won’t mesh with the gander and our flocks may need to disperse at regular intervals for the sake of keeping the sanity of the celebrations. Don’t force the togetherness in moments when friends and relatives just want to be left alone. And as we’ve learned, pathology trumps astrology. If the most cosmically compatible person is a touch “cray-cray” don’t plan any nativity scenes to, say, rebirth a narcissist into a normal human being. You’ll just drive yourself to the brink in so doing. Fortunately, the moon is in Libra on Wednesday, ushering in tidings of comfort and joy…and a patch of heavenly peace. Christmas is for lovers this year, and the amorous effects of Libra’s lunar light could bring couple-y moments for many of us.
