Camp out at the Apple Store, price out diving trips for the Great Barrier Reef, and hit the delete button on that annoying ex’s contact file. This Wednesday, February 11, Mercury turns direct after a three week retrograde through Aquarius. Can we get a “Hallelujah”?! Since January 21, we’ve been in the crosshairs of Mercury retrograde, a time notorious for technical difficulties, communication breakdowns and unfortunate flashbacks with a “somebody that I used to know.” This one’s been a double whammy since it took place in Aquarius, the sign that governs technology and friendship. Caramba! As Mercury corrects its course we can heave a sigh of relief and get back to conflict-free thumbtyping once again. (Here’s hoping you didn’t send a naughty Snapchat to the wrong recipient or a snarky email to the entire office.)
Mercury will power forward through Aquarius until March 12, giving us the green light to update our devices, launch online ventures, and to make the final draft picks for our dream teams. This is also a brilliant time for brainstorming or to start developing inventions. Geek is chic while Mercury is direct in Aquarius! When socializing, look for a meeting of the minds and a spark of shared intellectual curiosity. One caveat to all the launching enthusiasm: the shadow of Mercury retrograde will linger until March 4, when Mercury orbits to 17 degrees Aquarius — the degree it was stationed at when it began its backspin. The coast will be one hundred percent clear for new initiatives then, but we can start making progress and building momentum after this Wednesday.
Valentine’s Day is Saturday — and Cupid’s game plan is a little bit “schizo” this year. The moon will be in adventurous, freewheeling Sagittarius until the late afternoon making it hard for many of us to get into full-on romantic spirits. An active (even athletic) adventure could be a great way to spend the day. Traveling for V-Day also gets the thumbs up. But don’t venture too far off the grid (or away from the ‘schmancy restaurants). Near dusk, la luna moves on to traditional Capricorn, turning the whole affair into a Hallmark holiday for many of us. Fete St. Valentine with proper respect. Indulge in the red roses, bonbons and dress-up dates, whether you’re hitting the town with your honey or hanging with a posse of single friends. Staying home to watch “The Notebook” is NOT an option!
