Monthly Horoscope:

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

March 2009

Partnerships take center stage in March for you, Virgo. During the first three weeks, it seems that everything is better when you team up with a kindred spirit. Virgo, you aren’t the quickest sign to trust others, but March is an important time to share, delegate, and benefit from cooperative efforts.

With tough Saturn in Virgo since September 2007 (and in low-power retrograde position since New Year’s Eve), life may have felt like an uphill journey this year. Not that it’s all bad—you love a challenge—but you’ve had easier times. You’re in a period where you need to focus on your core strengths, rather than try to do it all yourself.

Saturn is retrograde until mid-May, and remains in Virgo through October. That’s all the more reason to join forces. With Saturn in your sign, personal resources may be short, and you need to get creative to pull off bigger plans. Lean on the people in your life—you know, the ones you’re always supporting during THEIR times of need? It’s okay to ask for it in return now.

A peak moment arrives on March 11, at the Virgo full moon. This is the manifestation point of everything you’ve been developing since your birthday. Think back to September and the seeds you planted then. This moon is your harvest point. It’s a powerful moment to put yourself out there, to be seen and heard.

If you have any behaviors or habits that you’d like to leave behind, this moon will help you adjust your attitude and end negativity. In fact, around this full moon, it’s not a bad idea to consciously examine which topics, thoughts and activities take up most of your time. To a certain degree, our reality is shaped by whatever we choose to focus on. What’s occupying your mind, Virgo? Is it worth your energy? If you’ve gotten caught up in excess drama, move away from it now.

Your love life could transform around this full moon, too, if you’re willing to look at yourself. Virgo, you are the co-creator of your own happiness. If you’re not getting the fulfillment you desire, it’s time to do some soul-searching to figure out what you really need. With love-planet Venus retrograde (backward) from March 6-April 17, it’s a good time to give your personal life an overhaul anyway. Look back over your most intimate moments and think about what thrilled you most. How can you bring that feeling back with your current or next partner?

Expect a little inner turmoil around March 16th. That day, you’re caught in a tough T-square between several planets. You may find yourself attempting to be all things to all people. It will be challenging to balance your own needs, your goals and your relationships, so take it easy and just do your best. Again, it’s time to delegate and balance it all out!

A great book we recently read is called Why Him? Why Her? by Helen Fisher. An anthropologist by trade, Fisher created Chemistry.com, an online personality test that classifies people into four archetypes determined by neuroscience. Fisher’s theory is that we’re each primarily motivated by either estrogen, testosterone, dopamine or seratonin. In her book, you can take the quiz and find out whether you’re an empathic, estrogen-driven Negotiator, a thrill-seeking Explorer whose brain kicks out dopamine, or one of the other two. Reading this, you really see how much we need each other’s strengths.

After March 20, life gets even more intimate. The Sun moves into Aries, your eighth house of deep bonding, sex and spirituality. It’s a passionate time, though it can be intense. You may have mood swings, especially since you’ll feel particularly vulnerable and exposed at times.  It’s the sense of being out of control that you hate the most. Yet, it presents such an opportunity to grow. Control is an illusion anyway, Virgo, so go with the flow. You may be interfering with destiny if you try to steer things too far in one direction. Fate’s intervention is truly divine now!

Real estate, finance and property are ruled by the eighth house, so you could find yourself moving, signing contracts, or revamping the way you spend, save and earn. Although the national economy is in bad shape, don’t let that stop you from investing, or paying off debt if you have a few dollars to spare. If you’re developing a business of your own, you might want to meet with potential funders, or even apply for a loan.

On March 26th, the new moon, Mercury and Venus will also be in Aries, making it quite a sexy day. Treat yourself to some pretty new lingerie or loungewear, and whisper a sweet nothing or two to someone special. Take a chance and reveal another layer of yourself. Without risk, there’s no reward. You never know where it could lead.
