Horoscope:
Libra (September 23-October 22)
August 2008
How can we say this delicately? Libra, you have a tendency to procrastinate. Come on, it’s no secret. You call it “taking your time.” But we know the deal.
Well, those days are swiftly coming to an end. On August 1, a total solar eclipse falls in your eleventh house of groups and society. Libra, there’s no more hiding out. You’re in charge! A bold opportunity to lead a team project or humanitarian cause could arrive out of nowhere. And you know what’s funny? As much as you may dodge the responsibility of leadership, you’re actually quite a benevolent ruler. Libra is the sign of fairness and democracy; peacemakers like Gandhi and Nelson Mandela fall under this sign.
Whatever the cause, your schmoozing pays off. You love to empower people and share, and now you’ll have your golden moment. A new friendship or group association could radically change your life direction. If you have a website, use it to disseminate your message even more broadly.
On August 20, an exciting cycle begins. Passionate motivator Mars enters Libra, staying until October 4. Whereas you may have felt a little sleepy since early July, it’s like a jolt of caffeine has been injected into your veins. You’re all fired up to take charge, and you’ll have plenty of chances to do so. Be careful not to alienate people by being TOO direct, or coming on too strong. But don’t bite your tongue, either. This is your moment. It’s also a good time to revamp your image. Make sure you’re projecting an image of power and leadership. Trade the soft ‘n flowy (or sloppy) look for bold, eye-catching statement pieces that make an unforgettable impression. The idea is to be as memorable as possible now!
Mars can add stress, especially when it’s in your sign. Imagine feeling like you’ve just woken up from a nap…only to discover your bed is in the middle of a Memorial Day parade, complete with brass bands, floats, and cheering onlookers. That’s what the Mars transition can feel like. So make sure you take excellent care of yourself during the first three weeks of August, so as not to burn out when life comes rushing at you.
On August 16, a second eclipse falls in your fifth house of romance and creativity. This eclipse is linked to the earlier one; however, it’s a partial lunar eclipse that accompanies the Full Moon. Rather than bring a new beginning, this eclipse will close the books on something that’s been lingering—or bring some key elements together.
A budding romance could begin to take shape, or a burst of creativity could help you take a dormant artistic project to the next level. If you’ve been dating losers, permanently delete anyone who’s below your “bottom line” from that little black book. The fifth house also rules pregnancy, so you might make plans to conceive, or discover that you’re expecting. If fertility has been a struggle, you could move forward with fertility treatments or find a technological method that helps you start a family.
With planets (including your ruler, Venus) traversing your twelfth house of secrets, fantasy and hidden agendas, you could either meet s soulmate or attract someone who’s not completely upfront. Beware of “energy vampires” this month. You’ll need to assert clear boundaries from the get-go, something you don’t always like doing. You can be a people-pleaser. But unless you want to pay the price for someone else’s questionable choices, don’t offer more than you can truly give. You don’t have to play the martyr, Libra. Put your own needs first.
