MONTHLY
OVERVIEW:
Fall starts on a playful note, so plan an adventurous, even romantic,
Labor Day weekend. You’ve had a flowy, unstructured summer, which felt
foreign to your regimented sign, but also refreshingly peaceful. Thanks to expansive
Jupiter in your twelfth house of healing and surrender, you’ve learned
to go with the flow since June. In fact, you’ve been more like Ferdinand
the Bull munching clover in the pasture than a Pamplona stampeder. Even better,
public approval ratings on the new “Zen Taurus” are up! Still, your
productive side is getting a little cagey in the pen.
Good news: you can resume your Pamplona-style stampede on September 9th,
when Jupiter backs into Pisces, your eleventh house of groups and networking.
A team project or venture picks up steam for the rest of 2010. You may even
infuse your work with summer’s soulful epiphanies—like refusing
to “sweat the small stuff” or practicing the Buddhist principle
of non-attachment. Jupiter will conjoin futuristic Uranus for the rest of
the year, indicating that you may work in television, digital media, or something
involving cutting-edge technology. Stay tuned for big changes around September
18th, when the two will conjunct at an exact degree. In short order, you
could be launched into exciting changes.
It’s back to work on the 22nd when the Sun enters Libra, your sixth
house of health and organization. Now, you’re up for the challenge,
thanks to Pluto’s direct (forward) turn in your visionary ninth house.
Pluto has been retrograde (backward) since April, making it hard to figure
out what to DO with your life. Your Kerouac-style “on the road” sabbatical
gives way to clarity and heightened optimism about your long-term plans.
Don’t worry—Jupiter will return to your dreamy twelfth house
again from January to June 2011. You can get back to your Eat, Pray Love
reenactment then.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
The temperatures may be dropping outside, but the heat is only rising in
your love life. This month, romantic Venus and sexy Mars both visit Scorpio,
your relationship sector. Yes, Taurus, you ARE being checked out by that
eligible hottie. Uh-huh, it’s even someone worthy of your digits.
Coupled or not, September makes up for a tepid summer (and let’s
face it, a romantically underwhelming last couple of years). Peel yourself
off the couch and take some initiative—nobody can plan a better date
than a motivated Taurus.
On September 8th, the Virgo new moon brings tingly feelings to your fifth house of romance and passion. Laughter is an aphrodisiac, so bring the fun and sparkle back to your love life. It’s also a good day for conceiving, so know that the stork is circling! Be proactive if you’re single—ask friends to set you up, attend parties, and keep an open mind. With Jupiter and Uranus backing into your high-tech sector for the rest of the year, stop pooh-poohing the matchmaking websites. Check out online dating coach Laurie Davis’s www.eflirtexpert.com, which has a great blog with funny-yet-practical Internet dating tips (everything from choosing the right photo to being “interested vs. interesting” on a date). She even offers affordable online dating “makeover” services that whip your profile into come-hither shape.
With Mercury retrograde in your romance sector until September 12th, an
ex could resurface this month. Although you want the real deal, don’t
assume this person wants more than just a hot reunion romp. Talk is cheap
(and a little dirty) now. It’s all about making clear agreements. If
you both are upfront about what you want—be it a for-old-times-sake
hookup or a second shot a love—discuss it thoroughly and don’t
rush. Longtime couples may resolve an old drama or tension, either during
Mercury retrograde or at the Aries full moon on September 23rd. Don’t
pull out the big guns on each other—this is about leaving the past
behind you, not two wrongs making a right.
MONEY & CAREER:
Focus and direction have been like foreign words to you all summer, with
expansive Jupiter visiting Aries, your foggy twelfth house. Although it’s
been a creative cycle, many plans didn’t gel, or you worked hard
without a huge return on investment. Unless your true calling involves
the arts, spirituality or healing the world, it’s unlikely you figured
out your life path. (Hell, you could barely answer a simple question like “paper
or plastic?” or “regular or decaf?” some days.) Perhaps
you dealt with a difficult or shady person who promised more than s/he
could deliver. Whatever the case, you snap out of escapist mode in September,
and have less time for daydreaming and denial.
On September 9th, Jupiter backs into Pisces for the rest of the year, your eleventh house of groups and technology. A venture created earlier this year could pick up steam, especially if it’s related to a cutting-edge business, digital media, or progressive values like the environment or human rights. Eager as you are to succeed, there’s no cutting corners. With Saturn entrenched in your organized sixth house until October 2012, only the best-laid plans will succeed.
Who cares how many trips to the drawing board you have to take? If you’re
under-prepared or your skills need polishing, just admit it. On September
14th, transformational Pluto zooms forward in your ninth house of travel
and higher education. You learn best through experience now, and your mind
is open to metaphysical, rather than just practical, ways of seeing. Get
in touch with your inner alchemist and turn some lead into gold!
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
The first half of September is far from disciplined, and temptation will
abound. You’ve got every excuse in the book for eating that fifth
cookie, binging at the Labor Day barbecue, or slacking on a half-hearted
health regimen. With motivating Mars in your partnership sector, you’ll
get better results with a teammate. Grab a workout buddy or quit smoking
with a friend. Join an online community to support your wellness efforts,
especially one that offers tools and apps to track your progress. On September
22nd, the Sun enters Libra, your health and fitness sector, making it much
easier to get into the groove.
The September 23rd Aries full moon could be both a challenging and a magical day. This moon is in your twelfth house of release and miracles. Be open to divine wisdom and guidance that could pour into you like a channel. On the downside, your own addictive patterns and need to control the show could emerge in full glory. And yet, you can also catch yourself by staying in your highest mind instead of reacting. As Stephen Covey wrote in The Eighth Habit, “Between stimulus and response there is a space. Our power resides in that space. The greater the space, the greater our power and choice.” Widen the gap between your primal, knee-jerk responses and the inner wisdom you’ve worked hard to develop all summer. Sometimes, the best response is no response at all. Think: half-smiling Buddha, not charging Bull. Next up: your Taurus Weekly Horoscope >
