The Year of the Water Rabbit began at the Aquarius new moon on January 22, 2023. Although the Year of the Rabbit comes from Chinese astrology, Rabbit years in Western astrology are ruled by planet Neptune.
- Neptune’s themes are creativity, empathy, spirit and fantasy, which we’ll all feel this year.
- This Rabbit year’s element is water, which can be serene abundant, creative and intuitive (good for career goals) and affectionate (good for love goals).

What is your most audacious idea? Something you’ve been afraid to say aloud? Imagine it and put it on paper!
Astro tip: Tap into abundant Jupiter in trailblazing Aries until May 16, 2023. This gives you the can-do attitude and desire to go after what you want.
“Binky” (the power of playfulness)
Visualize your victory leap. Start from the end and work your way backwards. Use this as a motivator to grow and take risks.
Astro tip: The destiny-driven North Node returns to Aries on July 17, 2023, for the first time in 18 years! This transit invites us to put a personal dream front and center. If it sounds like a stretch to achieve this, find comfort knowing this transit lasts until January 11, 2025!
Bunny ears
This is about listening for inspiration, ideas and clarification. Not hearing! Keep your ears up to take in nuanced listening vs. assumptions you may have about what people are telling you.
Astro tip: This one borrows from Numerology, which has a comfortable relationship with astrology. 2023 is a 7 Universal Year. Its focus that we will all experience is on spiritual and personal growth and evolution.
Hutch
Set up your creative space, a spot that inspires you to feel safe and let your imagination grow. Where will you locate your “hutch” or enhance one you already have?
Astro tip: Tap into the South Node in Scorpio. With the lunar node in Scorpio until July 17, 2023, you’ll need a safe space to cocoon where you can let your guard down and be free to be yourself.
Fluffle
A fluffle is a group of rabbits, and for us it’s about creating your community and summoning your supporters! If you isolated during 2022’s Year of the Water Tiger, it’s time to come out and join a, well, fluffle!
Astro tip: Your astro allies here are Saturn and Pluto. On March 7, 2023, restrictive Saturn ends a three-year journey through communal Aquarius, allowing you to be more social. But who with? Transformative Pluto dips into Aquarius from March 23 to June 11, 2023, and then for 20 years from November 19, 2024 (for the first time since 1798!) The way we work together is about to shift to sharing more resources and collaboration.
Tortoise
Honor and enjoy the process for your longer-term dreams, the ones beyond your 12-month window. These are the ones that need skill-building and persistence. Where have you “microwaved” where you should have slow cooked? You might need to go back on something and build.
Astro tip: Here is where you can tap into power player Pluto in Capricorn for most of 2023 (and part of 2024) as it wraps a 16-year tour through the methodic earth sign. The lesson here is slow and steady wins the race.
Carrot
This part of your vision board is about how you treat yourself! This includes not only self-care but self-kindness. Pro tip: schedule your care so it happens!
Astro tip: Abundant Jupiter spends a year in Taurus from May 16, 2023 to May 25, 2024. This underscores the importance of sensuality and simple pleasures. Additionally, the destiny-driven North Node is in Taurus until July 17, 2023, which is just screaming for you to reward yourself.

These are the small and regular practices that turn your vision into reality.
Astro tip: Tap into Saturn in Pisces again here. When the disciplined planet flows into dreamy Pisces for three years beginning March 7, 2023, you can create more time to imagine and ideate, turn routines into rituals. This isn’t about just hitting results but enjoying the process.
