Roe v. Wade Astrology

What’s astrology say about the U.S. Supreme Court overturning the decades-long right to an abortion?

On June 24, 2022, the U.S.’s highest court reversed protections on a woman’s right to choose if she carries a pregnancy to term. The historic Roe v. Wade decision, settled in 1973, now puts the legality of abortion into the hands of individual states.

The repercussions of this decision will be felt for years to come, for women who are denied access to a medical procedure and the legal chaos sure to ensue as about half of the 50 states are expected to make abortion illegal. And the news was shocking to a nation whose majority believes in a woman’s right to choose. How did we get here? And can astrology provide any answers?

The astrology of Roe. v. Wade

On Jan 18, 2022, the karmic South Node moved into Scorpio, the sign that rules reproduction. We were deeply concerned about what was in store for women’s rights this year—and we wrote about this in our 2022 Horoscope book.

Since the Scorpio lunar eclipse on May 16, scary and unsettling developments have moved at an accelerated pace.

Roe v. Wade is in its Chiron return, as the wounded healer comet returned to 13º Aries (the sign of the self-authorized warrior) for the first time since this landmark protection was instituted on Jan 22, 1973.

Chiron’s symbol is the key, but what will be unlocked from… this? Perhaps stronger laws will be created to protect choice. Perhaps this moment will unleash a torrent of rage that leads to sweeping reforms. We are already dealing with domination and power plays that are the shadow of Aries and now fierce Mars and Jupiter have joined Chiron there. The path to any reform will be the battle of a lifetime now.

The South Node is in Scorpio until July 17, 2023, and the eclipses go on until October 2023. The next 18 months are going to be full of crucial developments. Extreme measures will be required for this historical battle.

As is the case with eclipses, results will be widely varied and unpredictable. But one thing is for certain with Scorpio and Aries at the helm: transformation will not come without direct action and a willingness to fight.
