Valentine’s Day 2022 Astrology and Horoscopes for the Zodiac Signs

Valentine’s Day 2022 is bringing passion and poetry with a traditional twist.

By The AstroTwins

Welcome to Valentine’s Day 2022: With Omicron casting its shadow on New Year’s kisses and Venus backing into an unceremonious retrograde this past December 19 to January 29, love has been a bit of a hot mess for many since the year began.

Fortunately, St. Valentine gets in sync with the stars in time for February 14! As the planets sound the call for passion, poetry and power couple fantasies, we could all make up for lost time!

What’s happening in the stars for Valentine’s Day 2022

The moon is center stage in Leo

The moon, which directs our desires, is in showy Leo (full on February 16), setting the dress code somewhere between “costume required” and “black-tie optional.” Here’s the excuse we’ve all been waiting for to pull on the fancy numbers that have been zipped into garment bags for the past two V-Days.

If you’re not comfortable going out, lean in hard to Leo’s thespian vibes. Turn a stay-at-home date into a theatrical performance––romcom or NSFW is up to you.

Jupiter is writing love sonnets in poetic Pisces

With fantasy-agent Jupiter in Pisces until May 10, let your imagination fly free. Don’t rely on conversation hearts to express your loving feelings. Say it with stanzas by your favorite poet or lyricist; or try your hand at writing an ode to your beloved!

Venus and Mars power-couple in Capricorn for Valentine’s Day 2022

If your vision of love takes a turn toward the traditional, don’t be surprised. Love planets Venus and Mars are on a power date for Valentine’s Day 2022, combining their forces in goal-getting Capricorn. (And on the 16th, they’ll meet at the exact degree of Capricorn under the light of a Leo full moon!)

If you could elevate anything in your love life, what would it be? Venus and Mars are here to help! Whether you’re raising your dating standards or your hopes about the future, this somewhat rare cosmic coupling teaches a masterclass is self-worth. If you’re ready to talk about the future, don’t hold back! Just make sure to focus on what you DO want instead of wasting precious time ruminating on your fears.

Mercury is back in Aquarius after its first retrograde of 2022

Would you rather just keep it casual this V-Day? Not a problem. For one thing, the Sun be in ultra-chill Aquarius (as it is every February 14). But also, social Mercury shifts into this friendly, laid back sign on Valentine’s Day. Celebrate the spirit of friendship by dressing up and feting St. V with your squad! You get a do-over from the Mercury retrograde through Aquarius this past January 14 to 25. No need to repeat the same lessons if they burned ya last month. Just continue along your path and, if you can, use Aquarius’ gift of humor to help move on from that pain.

The Lunar Nodes are in Taurus and Scorpio pumping up the affection

Touch is back again, and in the most seductive way! Since January 18 the lunar nodes (two points in the sky that direct collective karma), shifted into Taurus and Scorpio, where they’ll be until July 17, 2023. Taurus rules the senses and is all about embodiment—the erogenous companion to erotic Scorpio. We had a great conversation about the Taurus-Scorpio nodes with world renowned evolutionary astrologer Steven Forrest.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)

Go ahead and TRY to have a low-key V-Day, Aries. With an almost-full moon in Leo firing up your passionate fifth house, that’s probably not in the cards. This is a time to flaunt what you’ve got. Throw in some unabashed PDA and public declarations of love. One word of warning: Drama could flare if you don’t check in with other people. Even if you have THE most romantic plan, if your sweetie isn’t onboard, you could find yourself putting out the wrong kind of fireworks.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Valentine’s Day 2022 brings a cozy vibe, Taurus, thanks to the almost-full moon in Leo nestled in your intimate fourth house. You and your S.O. might take a pass on the crowds and opt for a home-cooked meal a deux. Single? Gourmet takeout and stimulating conversation with your Valentine squad might be all you need for a heart-warming evening.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Extended Galentine’s Day, anyone? February 14 features an almost-full moon Leo in your third house of friendship, Gemini, possibly inspiring you to organize a group outing. Even if romance is on the agenda, who says you can’t do a champagne happy hour first with your crew? Feeling poetic? Write out personalized Valentines for your inner circle to show how much they mean to you.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

V-Day features an almost-full moon in Leo and your second house of earthy sensuality, Cancer, priming you for the year’s most romantic holiday. Whether your style is long-stemmed roses, a candlelit table for two and a rooftop band or snuggling up at home with your favorite plus-one, you’ll have no trouble getting in the mood. Unattached? You can change that status in a heartbeat with a little concerted effort. Or blow off Cupid and head out for a scrumptious dinner with other single friends. ALL forms of amour are worth celebrating!

LEO (July 23-August 22)

Single Leos have an advantage over the rest of the field for Valentine’s Day 2022, thanks to a glowing almost-full moon in your sign. Pull out the stops and turn on your legendary charms. Already attached? You may have had plans in the works for weeks. But let your deepest desires be known. Your S.O. wants to please but can’t read your mind. Forget the game-playing: Be straight up about what you want—in AND out of the bedroom.

VIRGO (August 23-September 22)

The Valentine’s vibe is downright magical, Virgo, as the almost-full moon in Leo tucks in to your dreamy twelfth house. If you’re in a relationship, do something unexpectedly romantic for your sweetie—perhaps a follow-me trail of petals to leading to a candle-lit boudoir. Single and willing to brave the bar scene? Slip into your hottest outfit and invite a friend to join you for an adventurous evening on the sexiest heated patio in town.

LIBRA (September 23-October 22)

Quelle surprise! Friendship is as important as romance for Libras this Valentine’s Day 2022 with the almost-full moon in Leo brightening your eleventh house of “one love” unity. Single Libras will have more fun with friends than flirting. Even if you’re in a relationship, you’ll enjoy a lively, casual hangout with other couples, at least for part of the celebration.

SCORPIO (October 23-November 21)

Thinking of giving St. Valentine the cold shoulder? You may experience a total change of heart, Scorpio. The almost-full moon in Leo gets you in the mood to fete the day in style. How about an oysters-and-bubbly happy hour or dinner at a romantic bistro with heated patio dining? Single? Dress up for a celebration with a few of your most loyal friends. And just like that, the day is magic!

SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21)

Your aim is true most days, Sagittarius, but where to point those arrows this V-Day? The almost-full moon in your expansive ninth house gives you a raging case of wanderlust, sounding the call for an adventurous Valentine’s Day 2022. Can you slip out of town for one or two nights?  If you must stay close to home, bundle up for a starlight stroll. Conversations about the future will be dreamy and exciting!

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 19)

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the stars summon your inner siren, Capricorn, as the almost-full moon in Leo vibes in your seductive eighth house. Shimmy into your sexiest gear fill your celebration space (Chateau Chevre?) with votives, rose petals, music––the works. Be sure to give your emotions proper airtime. The eighth house can fire up some intense feelings, making you a little sensitive, especially if certain expectations aren’t met. A halfhearted response from your sweetie could ruin the night. Here’s a tip: Let your love interest know what your heart most deeply desires.

AQUARIUS (January 20-February 19)

An almost-full moon in your seventh house of relationships sets the stage for a sweet and satisfying Valentine’s Day 2022. A budding union could become official now, or you could begin talks about exclusivity. If you’re already in an LTR, Aquarius, go a little overboard in spoiling your sweetie. You can’t flatter anyone too much! Unattached? Get out and mingle among the single masses—even if it means heading out on your own or doing some virtual exploration. Chances are, it won’t take you long to find a suitable playmate.

PISCES (February 19-March 20)

You’re a traditional romantic with an original twist. The almost-full moon in your discerning sixth house calls for an elegant Valentine’s Day 2022 celebration. Single? Yes, you could open a pricey bottle and put yourself into a food coma from a steaming bowl of tagliatelle…OR you could do something that gets the endorphins pumping instead. How about a dance lesson (streaming or live) or a couple’s massage class? Not only will the interactivity help you bond, Pisces, but you could discover a favorite new activity. PS: This can be fun with a friend too!
