April’s skies reflect the tension here on Planet Earth, opening with the Sun blazing through confrontational Aries AND an April 1 full moon in peacemaker Libra illuminating where we’ve lost our way. Set in a tense 90-degree square to global Jupiter, which is in protectionist Cancer, the battles of “homelands” that have spread across the planet will reach a critical juncture.

Sadly, the full moon’s peace-promoting flashpoint might fade out before traction takes hold. A posse of planets will gather in Aries throughout April, building momentum as the month progresses. Combative Mars, the ruler of Aries, will join the Sun here on April 9, followed by communicator Mercury on April 16. Authoritative Saturn, foggy Neptune and healing Chiron are already here. By the time the new moon arrives in Aries on April 17, there will be SEVEN placements in the sign that rules war, ego and sovereignty.

Our only hope is that Aries also rules courage, and planets here can give rise to pioneering spirits who are a fearless force for good. But there’s little doubt that this will be a supercharged month, with emotions running hot and high.

The second half of April 2026’s astrology

On April 19, the Sun moves into Taurus, which will either bring grounding energy or cause stubbornness to grow further entrenched. As the Sun shifts from an impulsive fire sign to a steady earth sign, we all need to take a moment to pause and connect with our humanitarian values.

But the real headliner of April unfolds just days later, on April 25, when a major planetary move happens that we briefly previewed in 2025—one that only occurs every 84 years. That day, Uranus, the innovator, changemaker and disrupter of norms, completes an eight-year journey through Taurus. Uranus moves into Gemini that day, beginning an era of rapid, restless reinvention that will shape the next seven years!

Uranus has been rewiring our collective relationship to money, material possessions and the physical world since 2018, and that work is now complete. With the side-spinning planet now in Gemini, the revolution moves into the realm of communication, information and the way we think and exchange ideas. The pace of change will feel faster. New concepts will arrive in bursts, often through shared brainstorms rather than solitary work and labor. Uranus remains in Gemini through 2033.

In April, there’s a lot for us to hold, between the heat of Aries season, the weight of Taurus and the arrival of a new Uranian era.
