Go beyond the resume. Learn how hiring by the zodiac can help you find the best employees.
Danielle Canty, co-founder and president of bossbabe, interviewed Ophi recently on The Bossbabe Podcast. The episode, “What Zodiac Signs to Hire (Or Not To Hire) in Your Business,” can be heard on Spotify, Google, Apple Podcasts, or at the bossbabe website.
Topics explored in the podcast about hiring by the zodiac include:
- The astrological red flags to watch out for in any interview.
- What jobs are best for you based on your zodiac sign.
- How to use astrology to make your next hire.
- What sign you should have as your business partner.
“One of the hardest things about creating a business is the ‘X factor’ when you bring another person in,” Ophi tells Danielle on the podcast. “It’s not just their skills you’re hiring them for, you’re going to deal with their whole personality.
“Astrology is a personality test. It’s a shortcut to building a better organization and team, and understanding yourself as well.”
Use the elements of astrology to find common traits
Ophi says you can find common traits among the elements (fire, earth, air, water). Knowing them can give you a clue how a person will be as an employee. If you want to know the nuances beyond the elements, you can do their full chart. You can do a free chart for yourself or anyone at astrostyle.com/free-birth-chart.
“I’m a Sag––that is fire––but in my whole chart, I have a lot of water,” Ophi says. “If you know the whole composition it can translate into what they’ll be like to work with.”
Hiring earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Earth signs have the temperament of someone who wants stability. Hiring by the zodiac for Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn means they like to plan and see what’s coming. These signs are good in a role that gives them authority and enables them to reach achievements.
“Earthy people on your team will be the best ones to hold down the fort,” Ophi says. “Goals get accomplished.”
Some jobs for these signs might include admin or project management.

Hiring water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Water signs are the healers and feelers. Hiring by the zodiac for Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces means these people are driven by emotions. They do well in creative roles when they let themselves be in that and not consumed by their need for security. These signs may take on roles where they have control but not enjoy it.

Hiring fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Fire signs are action oriented. Hiring by the zodiac for Aries, Leo and Sagittarius means these people always have something exciting going on–maybe too many things at once. They are the catalysts, enthusiastic cheerleaders. Like air signs, though, their challenge is to finish what they start before moving on to the next great thing.

Using astrology for hiring also teaches about self
Hiring by the zodiac helps you develop “workarounds”
Ophi says that when you learn the nuances of the zodiac signs, it can help you not only patch together a team, it can help you with “workarounds” and that you also learn things about yourself.
Astrology is self-awareness, Danielle adds. “The reason I’m such an advocate for personality tests and understanding your zodiac signs is you get to understand yourself and understand where your blind spots are and also where your strengths are.”
Much more is revealed in the conversation between Ophi and Danielle in the podcast.

The I*AM archetypes
Because astrology can be complex, The AstroTwins created a system that distills the 13 parts of your astrology birth chart into three personality archetypes: Influencer, Authority, Maven.
Entering your time, date, and place of birth, in the I*AM calculator will reveal which planets you have in the qualities: cardinal, fixed and mutable.
You can find your archetype here (a forthcoming title on the I*AM system by The AstroTwins will be published by Simon & Schuster).
After you’ve learned about your sign and your archetype, you can use our Astro-Ayurveda method to fill in the blanks. There is no end to the usefulness that is astrology when building your team!
