Dating Intelligence the Podcast Convo with The AstroTwins Asks & Answers Why Dating Can Be A B*tch!

Dating Intelligence the Podcast episode “Signs of the Times!” asks and answers: Do you think you’re exactly like your zodiac sign? Do the planets inform our lives? And: Do you ever wonder if the person you are with is a good match for you?

The hosts of Dating Intelligence the Podcast sat down for a conversation with Tali Edut, one half of The AstroTwins, the astrologers for Elle magazine and Cosmic Love, the Amazon Prime reality dating TV show featuring relationship astrology.

Dating Intelligence Asks: The meaning of your Sun and moon signs

Christopher Louis and Jamie Villamor, both Leos and hosts of Dating Intelligence the Podcast, opened their “Signs of the Times!” conversation with Tali of The AstroTwins, by explaining how neither of them really likes their own birthday celebrations! And they wondered if every Leo felt that way.

Tali surprised them when she said: “Not every Leo is the same.”

Simply, it’s about your birth chart,” she says. “You aren’t just a Leo. That is why not every Leo is the same.”

Your personal astrology isn’t just about the Sun (where the Sun was the moment you were born determines your zodiac sign).

All the other planets and the moon are looked at. They are moving around the Sun and when you are born we “take a selfie of the sky” (your birth chart, or natal chart).

The 12 zodiac signs follow a circle in the sky, like slices of a pizza. So the Sun was in Leo when Christopher and Jamie were born, but the moon and the other planets were in different zodiac signs. These planetary positions comprise your birth chart. And since each planet in a zodiac sign has its own traits, your personality really is more than just your zodiac sign/where the Sun was when you were born.

“Only a person born the same minute as you in the same time zone will share that map,” Tali says, explaining how unique a person’s birth chart is, and therefore, their personality!

The moon is your “second little code”

The moon, for example, rules our day-to-day emotions, our changeable moods. Its placement in a birth charts dictates the more fluid, emotional sides of our nature. The moon is often thought of as the counterpart to the Sun: el Sol is expressive while la luna is receptive.

Knowing your moon sign is important for relationships. The moon shows temperament.

“The moon is your second little code” to your personality,” Tali says.

Jamie’s moon was in Scorpio when she was born. And Chris’s moon was in Leo.

Moon sign dating

Tali, who also has a Scorpio moon, told Jamie this placement means: “Dating can be b*tich.”

“There’s this intensity of emotion that comes up,” she explains after Chris teases her to say “dating is a b*itch” a few more times. “Let’s call it an anxious, anxious, anxious attachment style. Or a suspicious attachment style.

“It’s hard to trust when you have a Scorpio moon and yet you just want that soulmate connection so deeply. You can walk around looking for it. You do have a capability to bond deeper than most, though.”

For Christopher, who’s a Leo Sun and a Leo moon, Tali says this means: “What you see is what you get.”

“You wear your heart on your sleeve,” Tali says about Chris’s Leo moon.

About your astrology birth chart IRL

Not to say any of this is “bad” news about their chart. Tali told Chris and Jamie: “We’re not victims of our charts. We have to learn to work with them.”

Tali briefly touched on what it means when each planet is in a zodiac sign or house. There are 12 houses and where the planets reside in your chart (in the houses) represents a different essential aspect of our lives. You can learn about the 12 houses and what each planet means in them here.

Dating Intelligence Asks: What’s your perfect match?

Chris asks Tali: How many matches are there for each sign? Is there a number? Not everyone can match up, theoretically, right?

“I think you can—if you’re willing to do what it takes,” Tali says.

“Everyone comes into life for a reason; there’s a purpose you have to work together, for a moment or forever. There’s meaning, a karmic lesson, in every interaction, no matter how brief.”

Supercouple, the new relationship astrology book from The AstroTwins, a third entity is explored.

“There’s a third entity that arises when you put your charts together,” Tali explains about the astrology behind Supercouple. For example, Chris, who is a Leo, and his girlfriend, who is a Libra, make a Virgo Supercouple.

Before learning about Supercouple, Chris says the feel like a Supercouple. “We call ourselves a powercouple because we match up so well.”

The elements in astrology to understand Supercoupling

Tali goes through the four elements of astrology with the Dating Intelligence hosts.

The four elements and their zodiac signs (your zodiac/Sun sign determines your element):

Fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Air signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

“We’re gonna love who we love,” Tali says. “I’ve seen some unconventional matches really work.”

But you have to know, if you’re fire and they’re water, it can get steamy, but you can make mud sometimes! Water can evaporate. Fire can put out waters.

“It’s constant balancing,” Tali says.

Understanding the elements can help you understand your relationships (explored deeply in Supercouple).
