When is Beyonce’s birthday?

Beyonce’s birthday is September 4, 1981.

Beyonce’s Sun sign is hard-working Virgo

The Sun represents the essence of your personality, your main character energy

Beyonce’s astrological sign is Virgo. She was born Beyonce Knowles on at 9:47 PM on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas.

Virgo is the sign of the maiden, the earthy sensualist, the hard-working, routine-driven expert. Beyonce illustrates her Virgo Sun as someone who’s willing to put in the hours, as she did through her childhood: dancing, walking in heels, doing everything in her power to become the star that she is today. Virgos can make it look so easy but, rest assured, they put in their 10,000 hours to make sure that they do everything masterfully!

Beyonce’s Sun is in the 5th house of fame (obvi!)

But with her newly confirmed evening birth time of 9:47 PM (more on this momentarily!), Beyonce’s Sun isn’t just in Virgo—it’s in her fifth house of creativity, performance and fame. This cosmic combo turns the classic Virgo behind-the-scenes energy into full-blown star power. She’s not just refining the craft—she is the show.

From a young age, Beyonce poured her energy into perfecting her talent: rehearsing choreography for hours, mastering the mechanics of movement and cultivating the poise and polish for which she’s now revered.

Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and coordination, which explains her uncanny ability to sync body, mind and music with surgical precision.

Fifth house Suns live to express themselves. Her work ethic may be Virgo, but her drive to create, to dazzle, and to captivate is pure, tireless fifth house energy.

The AstroTwins read Beyonce her very first astrology chart!

When Beyonce first started dating Jay-Z, we had the honor of reading her birth chart back stage at the Billboard Music Awards. Talk about a surreal moment! Since she didn’t know her birth time, she called up mama, Tina, who said, “around 10:30 in the morning.” Not exact, but close enough to put her at a Libra rising. Since then, the Internet has been searching for her real birth time, debating whether Libra or Scorpio might be her ascendant.

That was in 2003, and there were no astrology apps at the time. Only 22 years later, in 2025, did Beyonce FINALLY reveal her actual birth time of 9:47 PM. We chalk it up to something we’ve experienced over and over again with birth times—moms were, well, busy giving birth and don’t remember if it was AM, PM or what the heck was going on!

While Beyonce’s kindness certainly could have passed for Libra rising, it turns out she has the opposite sign as her ascendant—but a “stellium” of five planets in Libra, which means she exudes this sign’s energy no matter what.

Beyonce’s real birth time enters the chat in 2025!

With the release of Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Art Book, the record is set straight on the pop-country icon’s birth time—in a picture of her actual birth certificate! Seems like Tina Knowles just got the morning and night mixed up, which is not hard for a woman in labor to do!

Beyonce’s Rising sign is Aries: bold and trailblazing

•Your rising sign, or ascendant, is the first impression you make. Like a filter, it “tints” your Sun sign•

With Beyonce’s newly revealed birth time of 9:47 PM, Beyonce’s rising sign shifts from what the world believed, balanced Libra, to fiery Aries—an appropriate ascendant for one of the world’s most commanding solo artists.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the warrior, the initiator, an undeniable presence. People with Aries rising lead with instinct, courage and charisma. There’s a rawness to their energy—a spark that says, “I’m here, and I will be seen.”

Whether she’s in her alter ego Sasha Fierce or seated in silence, there’s a magnetic power that demands attention without needing to ask for it. That’s Aries rising at work.

Let’s also talk about the fact that her ascendant is at 29º, the final “anaretic” (in astrospeak) degree of the sign. A placement at 29º indicates a fate-filled life and is often associated with fame or people who are born with a sense of urgency to complete a soul mission.

Aries also rules the head, and Bey is known for her ever-evolving crown—from iconic braids to bold hats to futuristic headpieces. Her style often plays with themes of battle and royalty: think Lemonade’s “Formation” with its militant choreography, or her Homecoming performance channeling a drum major-meets-queen hybrid. These aren’t just fashion choices—they’re Aries signals of power, movement and leadership.

And Aries rising doesn’t wait for permission. It kicks open doors. Beyonce hasn’t just followed trends—she’s created them. Whether launching surprise albums or reimagining the country music genre with Cowboy Carter, she blazes trails with fearless originality. She has us always wondering: what’s next for her to conquer?

Beyonce’s moon is Scorpio, like many top celebs!

•Your moon sign governs the “inner you” and influences your emotions•

Many of the top celebrities who are loved are Scorpio moons: Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, RuPaul, Jennifer Lopez!

The moon connects to your inner power. With the Scorpio moon, Beyonce is able to transmit some of the most transformational energies out there, into the world, when she shares her feelings through her songs.

Scorpio moon people are also deeply private, a little bit secretive. Although she seems to share a lot of what’s going on in her personal life (Lemonade album, anyone?), other projects and performances, you never quite know what’s going on behind the scenes. Did she or didn’t she when she was drunk in love? Her mysterious allure that she has is thanks to her Scorpio moon!

Beyonce’s natal chart Scorpio moon also makes her shrewd and strategic. She has managed to stay beloved in the spotlight and not become overexposed, even though she’s one of the biggest stars on the planet! She knows what to show and what to hide. And with her birth time now published, her moon lands at 26º, exactly conjunct to her natal Uranus. The side-spinning planet is quirky, chaotic, disruptive and communal. We can be grateful for that Uranian influence on her moon since it might be the very thing that inspires Bey to turn her otherwise-tucked-away feelings into chart-topping art.

Love astrology of Beyonce: A Libra stellium wants partnership

•A stellium is when three or more planets are in the same zodiac sign or house in a birth chart•

Beyonce has a lot of Libra planet placements in her birth chart. She has Mercury (the planet of communication) Venus (the planet of romance), Jupiter (the planet of expansion), Saturn (the planet of structure and mastery), and Pluto (the shadow planet) in Libra. Phew!

Libra is the sign of marriage and partnership. And she has certainly shown herself to be a natural partner in life! Whether it’s being partner in the music group Destiny’s Child, which had a 15 year run before Beyonce went solo, or long-time partner to her husband, Jay-Z (they secretly wed in 2008—oh hi, Scorpio moon!)

Beyonce is a seductress in the confines of a committed partnership

Beyonce’s natal chart shows she loves to collaborate and connect, and demands equity. She’s very fair about the way she goes through things because of her natal chart Jupiter, Venus and Mercury placements in Libra.

These placements mean she could have been a bit of a “player” or a heartbreaker, too. But because possessive Pluto and traditional Saturn are also in Libra, this enables her to be the seductress within the confines of a committed partnership. So it really serves her well to be married!

Beyonce’s South Node is collaborative Aquarius

•Astrologers use the nodes of the moon (found opposite each other in your birth chart) to determine where your destiny lies (North Node) and what you were in past lifetimes (South Node).

Beyonce began her path to fame as part of the group Destiny’s Child, which fits perfectly with her team-spirited Aquarius South Node. The South Node represents your past life energy, and she was born with a generous, collaborative quality that longs to include others in her efforts. Aquarius is quirky and original, refusing to be pigeonholed into a single genre. While Bey is a natural on stage, she has an Aquarian “one of the people” relatability and kindness that is basically anti-diva.

But here’s the thing about the South Node. One can stagnate if they don’t stretch into the opposite energy—the North Node, AKA the “destiny point,” which represents our soul’s evolution in this lifetime. Beyonce’s destiny point is in Leo, the sign of fame and fertility. The North Node often indicates an energy that feels like a new language that your soul is excited to learn. Stepping out as a solo star was a huge part of Beyonce’s fate in this lifetime, and she commands the stage like a Leo North Node royal. As the reigning queen bee of her Bey Hive—the name her fans have given themselves—she remains connected to her community in a way that hits both Leo and Aquarian notes.

Fun fact: Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child sisters Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have the same Sun signs as Bey’s nodes. Kelly is an Aquarius and Michelle is a Leo. No wonder they were such an important part of her journey and remain dear friends to this day!

In many ways, Beyonce’s relationship with her family mirror her nodal journey. With her North Node landing in the fourth house of women, the Knowles-Carter gals have been a huge part of her rise to the limelight. She nurtures Blue Ivy‘s talent, bringing her on tour, dancing with her on stage (who can forget the Renaissance Tour breakout!) and fostering her acting career. Her own “pride” her mother, Tina, and her sister, Solange, have been a big part of her life and career path.

10th House South Node equals big dad energy

Beyonce’s strained relationship with her dad, Matthew Knowles, is also part of her South Node karma, as this point lands in her tenth house of father figures. Her song, “Daddy Lessons,” performed with the Dixie Chicks, speaks volumes.

And in some ways, Jay -Z has a little bit of “daddy energy” being there’s a 12-year age difference between them. Beyonce doesn’t mind having a man to lean on (or speak out about her not having won GRAMMY album of the year, at the GRAMMY Awards), but her power is palpable in all this.

With her fourth house North Node, she exudes the archetypal feminine power: she wears the dresses, she wears the heels, the styled makeup and hair. She’s all about those things, but manages to assert them in a way that puts her in the same, strong league as Megan Thee Stallion or Nicki Minaj.

Beyonce is fierce, as her planet placements reveal, but also inviting, and that’s magic of her chart.

Beyonce’s birth chart has a Yod (“Finger of God”) between Neptune, Pluto and Chiron

In astrology, a Yod is a special three-part aspect formed when two planets are in a cooperative 60-degree sextile and both are quincunx/inconjunct to a third planet or placement.•

Some astrologers believe this relatively rare aspect creates a dynamic destiny, a life that can be charged with fate and power. The musician Prince had two Yods in his natal chart. Princess Diana and both of her sons, William and Harry, have birth charts with Yods. Meghan Markle has a double Yod as well.

In Beyonce’s chart, she has a 22-degree Yod, an especially potent master number. In Kabbalah, there are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet, believed by mystics to be the 22 names of the Creator.

Karmic and transformational Pluto is at 22 degrees of Libra, the sign that rules art, beauty and relationships, in her sixth house of mastery and craft.

Pluto forms a sextile to ethereal and creative Neptune in worldly Sagittarius, which sits in her eighth house of power and wealth. This pairing explains why Beyonce has been able to pull from such a multitude of cultures and references to create her divinely inspired work.

With these two esoteric planets in these exacting houses, it’s no wonder Beyonce is so driven and detailed with everything from her outfits to her lyrics to her choreography. Despite her longstanding career, she remains a mystery in many ways, courtesy of Pluto, Neptune and the eighth house’s opaque influence.

But the Yod comes together at its “pointer”—wounded healer Chiron in her first house of identity and visibility, in steadfast, sensual Taurus. From Beyonce’s various personas (Sasha Fierce, the Lemonade visual album characters, Cowboy Carter), we can see that this Yod creates an armor as well as a channel for expressing all that this supercharged spirit is holding inside.

Through performance and Taurean artistry (this sign is ruled by Venus), Beyonce reveals a glimpse of her intense inner landscape, and leaves us all healed and transformed in her presence.
